Message Well, I went to my detailer today to prepare for a little show at the Pasadena Art Center of Design tomorrow. No trophies or anything, just a nice show with striclty cars that were marvels of design in their day. Anyway, I had finally picked up some of the popular S100 wax (thanks Pat!) and took that as well as my IBIZ over to Eddie.

First off, Eddie is bombay! He does all of the Sprewell racing cars, some 310 stuff and even some of the Laker players cars. He's a perfectionist and more anal about my Z than I am (if that's possible). I pitched to him the idea of doing half the car with IBIZ and half with S100. He mainly uses 3M professional products (and some higher end stuff if your wallet can handle it) but today the goal was different. We ended up claying the car for the first time since I bought it and then using a two-step micropolish. From there both waxes were applied right down the middle of the car. Normally I wouldn't do it this way and just perhaps use the hood, but I want to see how it holds up overall. In the end, he was pretty surprised with how easy to the S100 was to work with but seemed to prefer the IBIZ just a tad more. He says that side of the car feels a bit more "soft" to the touch. Anyone that has truly detailed a car knows that feeling as you run the back of your hand over the surface. However, he was impressed with the S100 for the price and availability. When asked to rate them on a scale of one to ten, he gave the IBIZ a 9.5 and the S100 a 9.0. As for me personally, I can NOT tell the difference visually or physically. Given that, I'll probably be picking up more S100 since I can get it locally for my monthly waxings. After this month I plan to compare how each side beads up and holds up to the elements :)

I wish I had more pics but I was kicked off my (in)famous lot in record time. Savages! It really doesn't matter since the camera just didn't pick up any differences, especially since my eyes didn't. Anyway, hope this was helpful to someone!

Note: Always have doors straightened and dents pulled BEFORE adding sound deadening. Those waves are staying :(
